Nothing Changes

Times does not change.

Very often people say there is only one thing that is permanent i.e. change. They say it is permanent. The Greek philosopher, Parmenides, said, the world is in a constant flux. Flux meaning change. What the Greek philosopher wants to say is that the world is ever changing!
It is not only an opinion but also my conclusion that nothing will ever change in the world. Whatever was – is; whatever is – will be; nothing ever changes. Before I substantiate, I wish to call all people who advocated the theory of change, with due regards, as idiots. Let me give my reasons that nothing will ever change in the world:

  • Times does not change. Time is the biggest illusion we have. Yesterday is not different from today and today will not be different from tomorrow. Sun rose yesterday, sun rises today and sun will rise tomorrow. Nothing changed. The constant ticking moment in the watch / the clock on the mantle are figments of our imagination; a wrong way to state – time changes. Time can never change. Time is a constant phenomenon. I may not be in a position to explain the concept of time as well as Einstein did, but I agree with Einstein’s philosophy- Time is the biggest illusion.
  • Nothing changes. We took birth yesterday, we die today. I was born yesterday and may die today. My grandfather was born and died. In spite of billions of deaths neither birth nor death changed.
  • Nothing changes. The desire in man is to live forever. Five thousand years ago the desire to live forever was paramount in the minds of Egyptian Pharaohs and is present in the present-day generation of man. The desire to live forever is always present. It did not change.
  • The words yesterday, today, tomorrow, last generation & this generation etc. – these words are methods of expression, they do not mean or constitute change. Yesterday to today, today to tomorrow – are modes of expression and expression alone. Further, these phrases are coined by man to understand the unchanging phenomenon called time and nothing more.
  • The greed in man has not changed. Yesterday he wanted it all; today he wants everything. The greed remained unchanged.

Tell me what has changed in the world. When the train is travelling at a speed of 50 km/hr, the telephone & lamp posts and the trees etc., go backwards. Train goes forward. At most we can describe ourselves as mere lamp posts standing beside the track watching the train pass by. Nothing changed.
Therefore, I am not only of the firm opinion but also conclusively prove that nothing will change. The sun, the moon, the stars, the earth etc. – have not changed. Similarly love, the greed and the passion in a man has not changed. You, the advocates of ever-changing world, listen to me, nothing changes! There was a son who loved his father; there is a son who loves his father… Nothing changes and nothing ever will.

The directions, the rain and sunshine have not changed. Our thinking process has not changed. If you think that the cities we built, vehicles we make, gadgets we possess are changes, then leave them for few days, they become what they were!!
