Why the Name SHIT WHOLE?

The word Shitwhole is extremely dirty, shabby and unpleasant. However, I did not choose Shitwhole…rather what I chose is SHIT WHOLE. The word whole is in “I spent the whole day cleaning”. Many people asked me why I chose the name SHIT WHOLE for the website. There are many reasons. Few of them I will present here:

• All religions consider the world as shit. They give different names such as delusion, maya, impermanent…list goes on. For these religions the world as a whole is shit!
• Whatever we do, few years later when we look back – we ask ourselves – ‘What shit I have done’? This means the entire or all or the whole action, which we think is very important today, becomes meaningless / shit tomorrow. Hence, Shit whole.
• The supposed permanent God changes!! The God of Egyptians, Romans, Greek, Mayans and Harappans is dead. Now we have new Gods! Thus, changing Gods – we considered as permanent – what do we call it as?? The whole God history is but Shit. Hence Shit Whole.
• Science, it includes everything – computer, physics, chemistry, biology – every second it changes. Science, rather than giving some unchanging permanence…gave a world of impermanence. The whole of science too is Shit. Hence Shit Whole.
• Finally, the word Shit is so common these days that Whole of the world uses!! For example, consider these statements:
  • There is whole lot of shit on the pavement.
  • Something I ate gave me the shit.
  • She talks whole shit.
  • That man is a complete shit.
  • He doesn’t know shit about what is going on.

Thus, I can express any emotion with the word ‘Shit’. I have not chosen Shithole as in hole. The word chosen is Shit whole…wherein the entire world can be described as Shit Whole. The word Shit here men impermanence, changing, nothing solid and bad. The word Shit also shows my limitations / frustrations with the world. So many things happen, so fast. That’s why, we say Shit…Shit whole.

Finally, Shit Whole is a futuristic word. Though shit whole is a popular phrase, no one has registered domain name as Shit whole. When I describe the world / people / politics in its true sense it becomes a Shit whole. This also means looking at your experiences dispassionately…that’s why Shit whole. Talking nakedly, without any inhibitions on any sensitive issue Shit whole. Calling a spade as spade is Shit whole. Our past, present and future, and expectations, imaginations and feelings all converge in Shit whole. S-H-I-T-W-H-O-L-E

The whole world is bad…shit; good…shit; no comments…shit! The whole world is a shit whole. It sucks everybody, everything…like a blackhole…shit whole.

For example…this is how the New York Times describes India – “The capital of a super power aspirant, a country which is projected to become the world’s third biggest economy in 2020, has been described as “among the most populous, polluted, unsanitary and bacterially unsafe cities on earth”…a shithole.

In his 1960 exploration of eastern mysticism, The Lotus and the Robot, Arthur Koestler compared the smell of Bombay to that of “a wet smelly diaper” wrapped around his head…a shithole.

VS Naipaul was so revulsed about the filth in India that he wrote in an Area of Darkness that “Indians defecate everywhere” – beside the railway tracks, on the beaches, on the hills, on the riverbanks and on the streets. “They never look for cover,” he said with absolute disgust…India is a Shithole!

We the Indians are smarter than Koestler and Naipaul — we promptly banned both the books referred above. Hence from a different perspective, since I do not intend that this website be banned…I named it as SHITWHOLE and not as SHITHOLE.

Now, what has to be the tagline for this famous Shitwhole? Many thoughts, many emotions, many expressions float in mind and every expression is good. Every emotion is excellent. They are describing shit.

The questions such as: Who is the most dangerous man in the world? or Who is the worst man in the world? Or Who is the best man in the world? Cannot be answered without the help of religion and philosophy. Every religion, philosophy and culture across the globe unanimously agreed that a ‘a man who has nothing to lose’ is the most dangerous man / most intelligent / most practical and most scientific man. Hence, I choose ‘a man who has nothing to lose’ as the tagline for SHITWHOLE.

What a foolish fish it is
For it always trusts the water
And the foolish fish does not know
It has to be cooked in the same water!

Similarly, man of this world trusts the world implicitly, wholly and completely. He doesn’t know that it is the same trusted world is going to eat him alive. This world will leave him only when he is dead. In his death alone this man will understand that the world is but a SHITWHOLE.

That’s why I choose the phrase ‘a man who has nothing to lose’ as tagline for SHITWHOLE.
