Charles Darwin

Introductory Note:

Who are the most important people of the last One Thousand years, i.e., from 1000 AD to 2000 AD? The phrase ‘important people’ are defined as ‘a person /s who changed the destiny of the world; defined the great stream of human history and altered our perceptions.

Let us remember them.

——————-

Darwin was born into wealth, and he was not very distinguished in studies. A very ordinary student. He was glad to complete studies.

He was extremely happy when he got a chance to starve as an unpaid naturalist on the ‘HMS Beagle’. In the course of his five-year adventure, he developed one of the most important scientific theories of the millennium.

He returned as semi-valid. He got married, preceded to father 10 children. He continued his work, observed the implications of what he had seen in the Galapagos Islands and the atolls of the pacific.

Charles Darwin is recognized as the man who challenged the theological view of God’s creation by proposing that species change over time through natural selection rather than being created in their present form. His work placed humanity within the tree of life rather than viewing it as a separate, direct creation. His theories of Evolution and Natural Selection were published in 1859. They are accepted event today.
