Who are the most important people of the last One Thousand years, i.e., from 1000 AD to 2000 AD? The phrase ‘important people’ are defined as ‘a person /s who changed the destiny of the world; defined the great stream of human history and altered our perceptions.
Let us remember them.

This Italian astronomer, physicist and mathematician challenged the views of the natural world that prevailed for 1500 years. By inventing a mathematical approach to everyday experience, he discovered the laws of inertia, falling bodies and pendulum. With the help of the telescope he built, he made astronomical discoveries, he proved the heliocentric view of the universe which he formulated earlier, but was hesitant to publish.
When he did publish, he was forced to retract his findings before a Catholic Church tribunal in 1633. His beliefs and discoveries lived on, opened doors to modern physics and a new approach to scientific thought.
