I must admit, as insurance professional, that I saw ‘The Bengal Scam – Bima Kando’ TV series rather late. To be exact, 3 years after its release. One can watch these series online in Bengal & Hindi languages. I must thank and congratulate Abhirup Ghosh director of these series for this masterpiece. He understood very well the insurance concepts and their technicalities – which can be evidenced from the series. Rajatava Dutta has excelled in his given role. Kinjal Nanda and Sonamoni Saha could not have done better than what they did.
The Bengal Scam – Bima Kando is a Bengali suspense series about insurance fraud. This series has eight episodes:
- Welcome to BBC (Bengal Bima Company)
- The Open & Shut case
- The Offer
- The Cat & Mouse Game – I
- The Cat & Mouse Game – II
- The Mastermind
- The Hunt
- The Game and its players.
Each episode is of 20 minutes duration, suspense filled and nail biting. I must thank Megha Chatterjee, Roopsa Chatterjee and Soumya Mukherjee – the producers – for giving such a beautiful series based on real insurance events. It is a rare for anyone to even think about a fraud in insurance. No insurer will ever admit that he had paid fraudulent claims. According to an estimation Indian insurance fraud payments alone accounts for, well over 1500 cores per year. This figure is much smaller, compared to reality.
People who do not understand insurance will obviously will not understand the scam involved. Fire, Marine, Life Health, Accident – in every kind of insurance scams exist. No one admits and no one wants to bell the cat. More series are expected under the ‘Bengal Scam’ title. But it obviously needs a lot of work.
I strongly suggest every person who has insurance, who is thinking of taking an insurance policy and who is associated with insurance must see the series. What you see here is but the tip of an iceberg. There are many insurance scams, and their payout is enormous.
Let me tell you all perfect crime is possible in insurance, and it pays! Should you have any doubts, you can reach us for discussions.
