TOO MUCH!

Purple cloud-shaped speech bubble with black outline reading 'TOO MUCH' in bold letters

Too Much – Knowledge is not what you know; but where to find it. But these days, you do not have to search as to where does that knowledge is to be found.

Two decades ago, I used to sit in the library, leafing over the books, in search of some desired information. This process used to take hours, sometimes days, but in the end I could not only get the desired information, in that process I used to learn of many other things. This used to be the extra reward. And this extra used to be life changing.

I can compare, though roughly, the experience of searching the libraries to train travel. Travelling by a train from point X to point Y is the basic objective. But in that travel, I used to see many towns and villages! This used to be the bonus or the extra reward. But yes, I used to spend hours, days travelling. A decade ago, or may be a little earlier, many search engines were launched like the Google. You can search in them for any information and will get some information in few seconds. I may get what I want or may not get the desired outcome. I do not even know whether the information given by Google or Artificial Intelligence is correct. You ask the same question in ten different ways … the AI will give you ten different answers! Not believing me? Check yourself.

Easy come, easy go. Other than the answer, I learn nothing. There is no bonus learning, no extra information or extra reward. I reach usually a dead end with AI or Google! Time definitely saved like the time saved by flying from point X to point Y. You have not seen any towns or villages in that travel. Nothing extra gained. It became a dead travel, saving some time but losing the charm of life! Life becomes a bore and non-rewarding!

Without being judgmental, I must say this is no way of learning. Further, the Google kind of knowledge is like water in the sea, unfit for drinking. The humans stopped using their brains, became a parasite on search engines like google.
