Isaac Newton

Introductory Note:

Who are the most important people of the last One Thousand years, i.e., from 1000 AD to 2000 AD? The phrase ‘important people’ are defined as ‘a person /s who changed the destiny of the world; defined the great stream of human history and altered our perceptions.

Let us remember them.

—————

Isaac Newton was a passionately religious man who wanted to know how God’s universe worked. His search for answers gave us the following:

  • The law of Universal Gravitation
  • Calculus
  • A new Theory of Color & Light and
  • The Three Laws of Motion.

Newton synthesized the discoveries of Galileo, Kepler and others, formalizing and transforming physical science.

He said, “I seem to have been only like a boy, playing on the seashore, and diverting myself, in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me”.
