Illusion is not to see a rope and think it to be a snake. Illusions is not thinking of paper as currency or a photograph. The illusions of which I wish to write are different from the illusions discussed from times immemorial.
The illusions to which I wish to draw your attention are the ones that are created by us and we believe in their reality. They were not existing, will not exist in future. It is our fiction. It is our imagination that created them. It is our belief that they are real.
Once such illusion is God. We created it over a period of 10,000 years. We fully believe in the reality of this illusion! Today it became an unquestionable illusion! Huge philosophical theories are built around this illusion. These gods, goddesses have no reality, no existence, and no presence outside our mind. The illusion of God has a hypnotic effect on humanity!
The other such illusion is ‘Nation & Love for the Nation’. Nations do not exist, it is fiction. Till 1947, we were ruled by the British. Earlier we were ruled by Mughals. We did not have the concept of Bharat Mata or Bharat Desh. Having created an illusion called the Bharat Mata, we became slaves to it. Under the hypnotic influence we express our love, service and sacrifice to the nation.
Yet another is ‘Service to the Society’. Everybody wants to serve everybody…individuals, mosques, temples, churches, non-governmental organizations and the government… all want to serve! The competition to serve is so intense that it is a do or die battle! Many an occasion we even killed many to serve. Service became the single most important thing. All believe all in pitiable position but themselves. You have education, others do not have! You have food, others do not have! You have home, others do not have! Thus, the very concept of service aims at demeaning others in the name of ‘Service to the Society’!
In the above illusions my explanation is elementary, not exhaustive. There are many similar illusions. Religion for example is one such illusion. We the humans have created infinite illusions and believe that they are real. Last but not the least illusion is that the human race is the smartest race in the entire world!
Please understand the futility of these illusions. These illusions eat away our personality, our lives and our very existence. The governments across the globe reward the greatest believer of these illusions…the way you reward a dog with bone! Open your eyes, you will see the reality
