Marching Nowhere – Time is our biggest and everlasting illusion. We believe that it exists! And as a proof of its existence, we kept time in every gadget we use! Greek thinker Heraclitus argued that the primary feature of the universe is Change and change assumes the existence of time! Whereas Einstein suggests that there is no Change in the universe and in other words, for this gentleman the time does not exist!
We always conclude and dwell upon about our best days in the rear-view mirror. We all will eventually reach a point where it is no longer important whether the clothes are new or ironed, for we begin to think of them as a piece of body cover. Similarly, it is no longer matters if the house we built still has bright wall colors, for the house became a shelter.
Everyman will reach a phase of life where life becomes more important. This is that important phase of life and at this point we drop things once considered our treasures. The considerable library which was pains takingly built with patience and money, now shall contain outdated and no longer read books. Good health and health insurance became our biggest valuable concerns.
Now is the time of remembering, reflecting and pausing, certainly not for setting future goals. With time the future too goes! Now is the time for helping others with needs more important than ours. Now is the time to think of things others may need. Now is the time for introspection when the life with each passing year is nearing its conclusion. Now is not a part of time…now is now. Yet I cannot help but think of tomorrow as we continue our march on the highway toward nowhere!
Thus, change is an illusion and this illusion is permanent, till life. Time is a grand march toward nowhere! There is no time. The universe is the set of all moments at once. The entire history of the universe simply is. Hence, eternity is our time!
