Pardon my typo error sir. I wanted to write – It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World! If you observe carefully, objectively and dispassionately you can see that India is not a country that used to be till 2014. It is totally different today. All other parameters such as unemployment, illiteracy, poverty, crime, hunger etc. being the same, India as a country became different!
1. Jammu & Kashmir as a state ceased to exist. In its place two Union Territories were brought into existence. The special status is gone!
2. Political parties like National Conference, and many others from earlier J & K became history. House hold names like Mr. Farooq Abdullah are not heard these days.
3. Farmers can strike for a year, let them. None of their demands were met. Their issues were not even discussed! Their strike, on its own fizzled out, and this much is ensured.
4. Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate became everyday names. People are more afraid of these than the police.
5. Madi sports stadiums are built!
6. New Parliament buildings are built. The old ones are discarded. The cost is unbelievable, but who cares?
7. News Papers, TV channels and other social media – they exist in letter. Their spirit is taken away! 1975 and 2014 look similar!
8. Suddenly the TATA & Birla became poor. A new rich man of India is Adani. Whatever he does is law and legal. His understanding of law is perfect. India wants him to be richest man in the world.
9. Babri Masjid became Ram Mandir. A fortune is spent in its construction. Discussion about Lord Rama and his Mandir are the new national pass time.
10. MLA’s & MPs, to be exact, the legislators are traded. New governments are formed.
11. No interviews. No newspaper statements. Photo sessions became very important.
12. National population Register, citizenship, caste census are the new discussion points.
13. People forgot, if Manipur, or for that matter the entire North East (NE) is a part of India. Today we all believe NE is Chinese Territory.
14. We need to build Krishna mandir at Mathura It is of national importance.
15. The New Education Policy has successfully re-defined education. What is being learnt in the schools is indeed new.
16. How much tax government collects every month is the central issue. GST is a memorable word.
17. PM Relief Fund is buried. New funds arrived.
18. The judiciary and the Election commission became the new departments in the government.
19. More security is needed. Create new security agency – Agniveers
20. No one understood the importance of Bulldozers earlier. They became dreaded weapons.
21. One nation- One election. How nice it looks!
22. New criminal laws for crimes that were never committed. Citizen first. Honor first. Nation first.
The Constitution of India in its letter will remain. The spirit is discarded. It simply became a book – like any other book. In One Nation – One Election the definition of majority will change. It is no more a number in the parliament. It is the number of votes. The political party which gets majority votes will form the government in India…. I am sorry…Bharat. We shall soon be called a secular Hindu Bharat.
Many do not understand these developments. Generation Z and Alpha have no clue of these developments. A nation was prematurely born in 1947. As expected it did not survive. It has died in its cradle. This is a MADI world sir. And anything can happen in a MADI world! After all It’s a Madi, Madi, Madi, Madi world!
