Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born on 15th September 1890. She died on 12th January 1976.
She began writing at the age of 18. She wrote:
a) 78 Crime Novels
b) 20 Plays
c) 4 Non-fiction Books
d) 150 Short Stories and
e) 6 Romantic novels under the name Mary West Mascot.
Agatha was married to Archie Christe in 1915. She became very famous as Agatha Christie. This marriage ended in divorce after 10 years & 2 children.
Later Agatha married Maxwell Mallowan, 15 years her junior. One of her last requests before death was that her tombstone be inscribed Agatha Mallowan rather than the name which the public had come to love over her half–century career.
