I am writing as we may not have this conversation in person in immediate future. I want to tell you how I feel and to tell you some of the things that are difficult to say.
I remember your father being your age and promising himself that he would do a better job of being a father than his papa did. You don’t remember, but when you were a little child it was so easy to connect with you for your father. From the start, you were always the bright spark in his life. It was easy to hug you and to let you know how proud of you he was.
Time is strange. It’s hard to appreciate what you have until lose it. Those days are gone and exist only in happy and bittersweet memories. How can happy memories make so sad?
Those were the easy years. You thought your father was the greatest thing in the world. As you got older you wanted to spend more time with your friends. Gopesh stopped being so smart in your eyes and slowly started to become someone on the outside looking in. It got harder to get hugs. Time is strange.
Life became more about getting you from one place to another for all of your activities. You were doing things on your own and facing the world with all of its challenges and dangers.Your father watched you succeed and fail, make mistakes and come out triumphant.Every pain in your life was a small pain in your father’s too. He still loved you then as much as the day you were born. Time is strange
Did your father spent too much time worrying about his job and providing for the family? Was he focused on the wrong things? Probably he was! That’s when the walls went up. Somehow, he went from being the world’s greatest father to being something that was standing between you and “freedom”! Time is strange.
Even though sometimes you made it your business to be as hard to love as you possibly could, your father still loved you as much as the day you were born. You will never know the number of prayers, pujas, and petitions he made asking for wisdom, fortitude, and guidance.
I know you are remarkable. You are remarkable is a life time experience featuring your mother, father, brother and friends, prayers and life’s challenges.
