I met Nassir Ali first time at one of the Sun Life Insurance training sessions in 2012 – 2013 – almost a decade ago. He used to work in insurance operations of the Sun Life. I met him again after a decade and a life time later! When I met him first, he was young energetic and eager to taste what the life has to offer. He could be around 23 – 24 years old at that time and unmarried! His face was fresh, eyes had huge dreams and a raw will coupled with determination could be observed in his demeanor. I saw Nasser Ali challenging life “Life! Here I am coming for you”!
For Nassir Insurance became a passion and an unending subject that provided an opportunity of lifelong learning. Having served in the ‘Operations’ (traditionally called ‘Policy Servicing) department for a long time, Nassir has moved towards the insurance IT, taking care of the backend issues, writing insurance in its rudimentary binary language! I am 100% sure that Sun-Life has clearly understood the huge importance of these steady long inning players. Sun-Life is successfully retaining its experienced work-force, which is very rare in the world.
Except few messages / emails – we did not ‘communicate’ for a decade. Suddenly on 18th Jan, 2024 I received the following message that led to our reunion. “Salam W laikum Sir, Hope you are doing well. Few days ago, me & Swati was talking over phone and we remembered you. (What a fantastic insurance learning and memory we had with you). Sir, we want you to meet you personally when you visit Delhi in near future. We are hoping you will find some time for us. Please let us know. We will make it”. Nassir Ali.
The photo above was taken on 30th Jan, 2024, by an amateur photographer present in the form of a security guard at ‘the Ashok’ hotel Chanakyapuri. Every good quality of a beautiful human being and even more beautiful quality of being believer of Islamic faith are evident in Nassir even today. Further the qualities of humility and good character makes him an endearing man. In the insurance education, Nassir has acquired good qualifications; insurance was a chance happening in his life, with hard work and perseverance he has converted that Chance into Choice! As his insurance teacher and well-wisher, I can never expect a better gift and respect than Nassir’s elevation in life – Chance to Choice.
He is no more a bachelor now. Married to very cultured understanding and kind partner. She gives him satisfaction, contentment and endless devotion. I want Nassir to grow in life more – both personally & professionally. I pray the Allah to give good health and happiness throughout his life. May Allah bless the Nassir & Meharunnisa. As said in Al-Ma’un 107:1(PUBH). ‘Fathalika Allathee Yaduaaau al yatheema’. (Blessed is the hand that gives) – may Nassir give his might in the name of Allah, to the world.
Finally, Nassir, life is too short, hence always live right and pray. I wish you all success. Thank you for remembering me after a decade. You made me feel young again. Please remain as you are, believe in the Islamic values, and take good care of your better half & son. I will surely cherish your honesty and simplicity for residue life.
