We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers;
We have wider roads, but narrower viewpoints;
We have bigger houses, but smaller families;
We have more conveniences, but less time;
We have more degrees, but less sense;
We have more knowledge, but less judgment;
We have more experts, but more problems;
We have added years to life, but not life to years
We have conquered outer space, but not inner space;
We have done larger things, but not better things
We have cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We have split the atom, but not our prejudice
We have learned to make a living, but not a life,
We have higher incomes, but lower morals;
We have bigger computers, but less communication.
We have world peace, but domestic war;
We have more leisure, but less fun;
We have two incomes, but broken marriages
We have tall men but with short character;
We have step profits but shallow relationships
We have fancy houses, but broken homes
We have much in show window but nothing in stockroom
We have fast food but slow digestion
We have learned to rush, but not to wait.
We have one-night stands, overweight bodies and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. You can choose to make a difference or choose to forfeit your right to complain.
About the Author
Dr. K. Raja Gopal Reddy is a seasoned internationally qualified Insurance professional.
What you are reading here, may not answer all the questions we have, but has the absolute power of asking unsettling questions which increase the interest in the strange world, and show the contradictory wonders lying just below the surface of the commonest things of life. Look at this disturbing but beautiful thought of Friedrich Nietzsche “God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him”.
