Farewell Fujitsu

Fujitsu

Fujitsu Life Book E Series is my laptop. It served very faithfully for over 7 years. The complete name of this laptop is Fujitsu Lifebook E 546 series with Intel Core i7.Model: S26391-K441-V100. It’s a small 14-inch laptop, black colour with a red border around, very trendy, beautiful and attractive. When I was given this laptop by the Government of Oman, I did not know my association with this laptop would last for over 7 years. I could not even guess it in my wildest dreams. All my earlier laptops lasted on average of 3 years. As informed it has i7 intel core processor! In other words, 7 years ago this modern processor in a laptop is simply unimaginable. Today people, vast majority of the people use i5 processor. You can imagine what I felt 7 years ago. I did not even understand it. It had a 4gb RAM which was unheard of!

I flaunted and worked like a donkey on that laptop. It would be more appropriate for me to say that this specific laptop made me to work more. It was so beautiful and so good. The keyboard was so good that a mere touch on the key board and the laptop knows what I am expecting from the machine! In fact, it made me work more and turned me a workaholic. More creativity, more creative thoughts, more work and more money! It had every feature like windows 10, Microsoft office… everything!

8 months ago, this beautiful laptop started giving troubles. I cannot blame the laptop that itis giving troubles. I would say it had become old through usage, not in appearance. The battery of the laptop (Part No: CP700602-01 FPC07384BK 2016-10DC rating: DC19V 3.42A)had gone. I searched in vain the entire Indian and the Middle East market to buy the battery. Unfortunately, it was not available. I wrote to the company. I did not receive any reply except an automated reply assuring that they will get back. There wasno need for me to buy a new laptop if only I could get the battery.

Yesterday i.e., on 18th April,2021, Sunday, the laptop simply wouldn’t start. The machine &the programs wouldn’t update. Probably because I made the sick laptop work for over 8 months more without showing it to a doctor. I cajoled and encouraged the laptop to start. 45 to 50 minutes later, the laptop came back to life. I am thankful to laptop Fujitsu Lifebook for the wonderful service it had given and for having thought me how to be creative. I would keep this laptop with me as a souvenir, as a memory.

Having said this, I decide to purchase another laptop. Fujitsu laptops are not available in India. Whatever you get here are outdated. Whichever laptop I may be buying, I do hope it would be as faithful, as good and as understanding as my Fujitsu. For me Fujitsu was not a machine…it was a creative weapon in hand. Thank you Fujitsu.
