Do you know human being is the only animal that thinks? Or at least we can say that the human being is the only animal which thinks that it thinks in the entire world. It is the human being who certified himself that he is a rational! It is also the human being who certified that all other living creatures on this planet earth don’t think…as if he knows it for sure!!
It is very well possible that what you call thinking may not be thinking at all. In fact, all other animals may be thinking but you are not. How can a blind man see colour? Having said that it is this unique human animal in the world that can lie…it can tell lies! No other animal can lie. Human being probably may be lying to himself that it is thinking. Imagine neither a tiger nor a lion, nor an elephant nor a bird nor a fish can lie.
Thinking is the beginning of the downfall of the human being, if there is thinking at all. I said it is the downfall of human being because thinking begets tensions. We think of yesterday, of tomorrow, we think of the next moment…we keep thinking. Even in our sleep too we think! Thinking results in blood pressure, diabetes and varied other diseases. Yet man says thinking is good because 99.99% of the things he thinks does not happen at all! Thus, his worries never become reality. They are just fiction! Thinking has ruined man. He starts worrying and starts taking tension unnecessarily.
This very thinking has made man to lose the taste… the taste of nothingness. There are very few people in the world, you can count them on your fingers, who had the capacity to keep their mind blank like a blank slate / a white paper. When you don’t think either about the past, present or future the mind becomes empty. Empty mind worries of nothing. Emptiness is a slice of unfathomable eternity which can be tasted. The entire universe is empty and so is our mind. You are viewing and unifying with the entire universe by keeping it empty.
When I say emptiness, the sounds that you generally hear, the smells etc. doesn’t bother you anymore. It is all absolutely still and empty. A Buddha, a Mohammad, a Jesus and a Krishna – they were certainly blessed with the ability to keep their minds empty.
Emptiness is not only eternity but it is godliness.
