Why should the history repeat itself? Are we crazy to see history repeating itself? I am one who interprets history differently.
As I see, and I have not even blinked once – I found myself landed in the last few days of the year 2024! Is it the case of how the time flies? Or is it the case of how fast the life exhausts itself? Or is it the case of how quickly I am hastening towards my end? Or finally, could it be that unique case which no human mind will ever comprehend?
There is a very popular subject in the academics called History. I am sure everyone is familiar with this subject. All readers and historians read history and understood it wrongly. When I read history, I read it from the realistic perspective. I understood from history the utter futility of amassing property, creativity, development, name and fame. These are the games of foolish people! We have ample evidence in history. Here I am not talking of the wars, taxes, and many other things of similar nature. All the historical greats have walked into oblivion. I understand that the aims, aspirations, ambitions, and the desires of humanity have not at all changed during the past 10,000 years. They remained the same even today. Today the Science and Technology became a servant of these greedy foolish ambitions.
There is yet another subject called Economics: All economists have understood the historical economics i.e., welfare activities, taxation etc. differently. Their understanding is amply evident from the economic mess we are witnessing today. During the last 10,000 years nothing is changed in welfare activities, taxation etc. Economics is yet another route that aids the human greed for eternity.
The moot question therefore arises is this: Why are we like this? Why are we running in circles for the last 10,000 years? We have gained nothing; learnt nothing; we remained where we were. Another year to history and economics is added through 2024. It is very shameful.
What can be changed in the year 2025? before it becomes a historical number from being a year? A Buddha, a Mahavira, a Muhammad, a Jesus and a Kabir etc., tried to prevent their years from becoming a historical number and were partially successful too. They were, like a bright star, twinkled brightly & faded away. They raised the human hopes, but it led us nowhere. The rotten ambition of man for the illusory eternity returned to haunt; and this makes even the year 2025 yet another historical number.
I do not know how to stop 2025 from being a mere number. Having read little history, I feel there is a possible way. On introspection, I am sure of my feelings. I firmly believe that it is possible to prevent 2025 from becoming a historical number. I have found the way! Ensure that we have to make the history not to repeat itself. The saying “history repeats itself” means we are going in circles. Going in circles cannot be called as advancement or progress. It is in fact, regress. I do hope 2025 breaks this “history repeats itself” cycle.
