100 YEARS OR CENTURY…SO SHORT!

When the time comes, Yama Dharma Raja will take souls from Earth to Yama Lok.

Living for a century means living for 100 years. Generally, each human life is assumed to live for a century. Century looks very far. 100 years looks too long. Too distant. It may be noted I do not believe in time. The same I have been stating in various ways in many of my articles. Time only exists in fool’s paradise. It is only for the ease of understanding I am stating length of human life in terms of time. If I were to dissect century in a scientific manner, you will begin to understand how short our life is!

Century = 100 years!

100 years = 1200 months!

1200 months = 36,000 days!

36,000 days = 8,64,000 Hours!

8,64,000 hours = 5,18,40,000 Minutes!

5,18,40,000 Minutes = 311,04,00,000 seconds!

Roughly speaking we only live approximately for 311 crore seconds! A century became so short! Already 100 years? Oh God! Can You not make it a little longer? Please keep in mind we sleep at least for 8 hours a day… or 1/3rd of our life time!

This above calculation assumes a vindicated fact that we live for 100 years. But are we living a century? I would say living 100 years, in the case of 99.99% people, can only mean wishful thinking. Faces of Death are infinite. We can never know in which new form it may come to us.

Remember the fishing net of a fisherman? We do not know and can never know if the fisherman will catch a fish at all, let alone specific fish. Sometimes he may not catch any fish at all. Yet sometimes the fisherman catches some fish on a throw.

Yamaraj, also known as Kala and Dharmaraja, is the Hindu god of death and justice, responsible for the dispensation of law and punishment of sinners in his abode, Naraka. He is also identified with Dharma deva, the personification of Dharma. He throws the net of death across the world. He does not know who will come into the net cast. All He knows is some people, like the fisherman’s fish, will certainly be caught! Nothing is certain. One may live for 100 years or far less than a century. In this uncertain world, becoming a centurion is simply a pipe dream. Thus, there is almost 100% chance that we may not live for 311,04,00,000 seconds!

84 years or Chaurasi (in Hindi) is a ceremonial worship conducted at the age of 80++++ is one of the unique traditions of Hindus which raises the status of the person next to God and frees him from all kinds of social bounds and restrictions. In other words, he who has seen 1008 full moons in life is sufficiently blessed by the gods!

Thus, our position is very liquid. Life seems no juicier. Life is not long as it appears. It is incredibly infinitesimal. It is ridiculously short. It is so short that it has no meaning. Only fools attempt to find the meaning of life. All I can say is just LIVE life. Finally, all I can hope for me and you all is only one thing: May all the Gods of all the religions bless us to see the 84th year!
